Amit Sharma conducts series of meetings, site visits regarding historical Rail Inauguration for Mizoram

Amit Sharma, Secretary to the Government of Mizoram, Information & Communications Technology (ICT) Department and Director Census Operations & Citizen Registration, Mizoram held series of meetings including site visits relating to the upcoming historical inauguration of maiden rail line to Aizawl, capital city of Mizoram which shall be culminating at Sairang Railway Station in the state capital.

Amit Sharma conducts series of meetings for historical Rail Inauguration for Mizoram -Amit Sharma initially chaired a meeting at Secretariat with all related departments regarding their preparations at the Sairang (Aizawl) Railway Station from where the train will be inaugurated. All the key departments like Railways, Power & Electricity, PHE, Fire & Emergency Services, PWD, Forest, Protocol, Information & Public Relations, etc shared their level of preparedness for the important upcoming event in the state and directions were given to complete their works within stipulated timelines.

Later, a field visit was conducted by Secretary ICT Mizoram Amit Sharma alongwith officers from multiple departments wherein he travelled in Media Special Coaches arranged by the Railways to see preparedness in all the stations enroute from Sairang to Bairabi stations from where the inauguration of trains will take place simultaneously next week.

Amit also mentioned during the visit that Rail will serve as a major medium of commutation here and will be a true ‘game changer’ for Mizoram state, which shall boost-up the GDP, rationalise the prices of goods & services, serve as a great alternative source of transportation for locals and indeed help people/tourists from all across the nation to enjoy the virgin beauty of Mizoram which is yet to be explored due to the limited channels of commutation till date.

Moreover, on return, Amit Sharma took a short meeting with key officials at Sairang Railway Station from where the train is expected to be flagged-off next week and understood the final leg of preparations with key departmental officials present in that meeting, being the the venue incharge for Sairang Railway Station from Mizoram Government.

Apart from this, Amit Sharma, in his capacity as Secretary, Information & Communications Technology Department, Mizoram took a detailed review today with the Chief Engineer, Telecom & Signals, Railways, Deputy Director General, Department of Telecom, PGM BSNL, State Heads of Bharti Airtel & Reliance Jio, apart from other ICT officials who were present in the meeting. He was given a detailed overview about the sources and routing of connectivity and alternative lines availability so as to ensure adequate bandwidth during the VVIP visit for the historical rail inauguration event to take place in Mizoram rail next week.

Also, some important additional decisions were taken during this key meeting wherein Secretary ICT Mizoram Amit Sharma clearly directed the officers to make all fool-proof connectivity arrangements with minimum of two-three rounds of live testing of connectivity, well before the date of inauguration by VVIP, towards which he was given full assurance by CE Telecom Railways and DDG, DoT who shall ensure that needful shall be executed as per the planning.
