Amit Sharma, Secretary to the Government of Mizoram, Information & Communications Technology (ICT) Department and Director Census Operations & Citizen Registration, Mizoram equated BHASHINI Rajyam Workshop held here as a co-terminus act to the launch of maiden Rail Service in the state of Mizoram.
Secretary ICT Amit Sharma, who spearheaded the organization of Bhashini Rajyam Workshop here in the state of Mizoram alongwith Team Bhashini team, after the successful inking of an MoU with them in the recent past, expressed his utmost delight over the timing of this Workshop, which coincided with the launch of Rail in the state of Mizoram after Independence and he termed both the events to directly serve as a blend with the languages and cultures of Mizoram with different cultures prevailing all across the nation.
The chief guest in this special Bhashin Rajyam Workshop was Dr Vanlalthlana, Minister for ICT, School & Higher Education, Information & Public Relations, Mizoram Government who motivated the speakers with a commitment to spread the maximum usage of this unique Bhashini platform all across various districts of Mizoram, which shall indeed help the public here to learn and use multiple languages like English and Hindi alongwith state language Mizo.
A special Bhashini Hackathon was also launched on this occasion by Minister Vanlalthlana alongwith Secretary ICT Amit Sharma which shall also contribute towards bring accuracy in this Large Language Model which is a great AI-based platform, already in use by many states and Ministries of Government of India.
Earlier, after inauguration of the Bhashini Rajyam Workshop, CEO Bhashini Amitabh Nag, gave a detailed presentation to the august audience, about the utility of this multi-language Bhashini platform, wherein he gave a demo in which his speech was also getting transcripted live, into both Hindi & English languages, while he was speaking. Apart from this, he shared that Bhashini is having multiple utilities in Parliament, Central Government Ministries and Departments, wherein this special AI-portal has already become very popular medium of language translation.
Amit also requested the audience to become active proponents for dissemination of Bhashini platform across the offices, schools, colleges, Mizoram University, Local Councils and all public platforms so that Bhashini can serve as a major platform for removing language barriers, both for Mizos as well as Non-Mizos, who shall be travelling in huge numbers, now onwards, whether as tourists or for work, with different demographic backgrounds and from all nooks & corners of the nation, after rail connectivity has become a reality in Mizoram after India became independent many decades ago.
Secretary ICT Amit Sharma shared that with inclusion of Mizo language in the Bhashini platform, the public visiting here shall get a great opportunity to bridge the linguistic divide, which used to prevail here in the past.
Lot of offices of the state including administrative departments, Mizoram University, Bhashini team, ICT directorate, Mizoram e-Governance Society, Administrative Training Institute and others participated in this important one-day Bhashini Rajyam Workshop, which laid a strong foundation for spread of this AI-based multi-language platform in the state of Mizoram and it co-incidentally happened on the sidelines of historic train launch here by Prime Minister of the nation.
