Ashok Kumar Garg Appointed Managing Director of Dakshin Haryana Bijli Vitran Nigam

Senior IAS officer Ashok Kumar Garg has been appointed as the new Managing Director (MD) of Dakshin Haryana Bijli Vitran Nigam (DHBVN), the state-run power distribution company headquartered in Hisar. The appointment order was issued by the Chief Secretary of Haryana on Monday.

A 2009-batch Indian Administrative Service officer, Garg is currently serving as the Divisional Commissioner of Hisar and Chief Executive Officer of the Hisar Metropolitan Development Authority. The new assignment will be held by him as an additional charge.

Earlier, Garg served as Commissioner of the Gurugram Municipal Corporation before being replaced in May this year by 2013-batch IAS officer Pradeep Dahiya.

Meanwhile, A Sreenivas, a 2004-batch IAS officer who previously held the dual role of Secretary, Haryana Energy Department and MD, DHBVN, has been appointed as the new Chief Election Commissioner of Haryana. His appointment has been approved by the Election Commission of India.

Sreenivas will also hold additional charges as Commissioner and Secretary of the Election Department.
