In a significant administrative overhaul aimed at strengthening governance and streamlining public service delivery, the Tamil Nadu government, led by Chief Minister M.K. Stalin, has transferred 55 IAS officers, including nine district collectors, across various departments and districts.
This large-scale bureaucratic reshuffle reflects the state’s continued commitment to reform-oriented and performance-driven administration.
Key Highlights from the Reshuffle Order:
- Shilpa Prabhakar Satish (2009 batch) has been appointed as Secretary, Commercial Taxes and Registration Department.
- Vijayakumar (1993 batch) takes charge as Commissioner of Land Reforms (on superannuation of T.N. Hariharan).
- M. Vallalar (2003 batch) gets additional charge as Secretary, Social Reforms Department (on superannuation of T.S. Jawahar).
- C. Samayamoorthy (2002 batch) will be serving as Secretary, Human Resource Management Department.
- Sankar designated as Secretary, Higher Education Department.
- Nagarajan: Appointed as Commissioner of Commercial Taxes (on superannuation of D. Jagannathan).
- Alby John Varghese: Appointed as Director/CEO, Tamil Nadu e-Governance Agency.
- Govinda Rao: Appointed as Managing Director, Tamil Nadu Power Generation Corporation Ltd.
- Madhusudhan Reddy: Appointed as Director, Municipal Administration.
- M.S. Sangeetha: Appointed as Director, Social Welfare.
- Pradeep Kumar: Appointed as Director, Town Panchayats.
- Raja Gopala Sunkara: Appointed as Director, Survey and Settlement.
- N. Venkatesh: Appointed as Special Secretary, Finance Department.
- Lilly: Appointed as Special Secretary, Transport Department.
- Ganesh: Appointed as Special Secretary, Municipal Administration and Water Supply Department.
- Veer Pratap Singh: Appointed as Deputy Secretary (Protocol), Public Department.
- M. Sarayu: Appointed as Joint Secretary, Housing and Urban Development Department.
- Karpagam: Appointed as Joint Secretary, Higher Education Department.
- Grace Lalrindiki Pachuau: Appointed as Additional Secretary, Revenue and Disaster Management Department.
- Uma: Appointed as Additional Secretary, Special Project Implementation Department.
- V. Shajeevana: Appointed as Managing Director, Tamil Nadu Women Development Corporation.
- Durai Ravichandran: Appointed as Managing Director, Tamil Nadu Watershed Development Agency.
- Shreya P. Singh: Appointed as Managing Director, Tamil Nadu Urban Habitat Development Board.
- Sivarasu: Appointed as Managing Director, Tamil Nadu Urban Infrastructure Finance Services Limited.
- J. Vijayarani: Appointed as Managing Director, Tamil Nadu Warehousing Corporation.
- Christuraj: Appointed as Director of Tourism and MD, Tamil Nadu Tourism Development Corporation.
- Asha Ajith: Appointed as Head, Tamil Nadu Rural Transformation Project and Project Director, Tamil Nadu Women Employment Safety Project.
- R. Anamika: Appointed as Joint Commissioner, Municipal Administration.
- Lalitaditya Neelam: Appointed as Additional Commissioner, Rural Development and Panchayat Raj.
- Prabhakar: Appointed to the Tamil Nadu Irrigated Agriculture Modernisation Project.
The government has also appointed nine new District Collectors to strengthen administrative leadership at the district level. K.J. Praveen Kumar has been posted as the Collector of Madurai, while V. Saravanan will serve as Collector of Tiruchi. Narnaware Manish Shankarrao takes over as Collector of Tiruppur, and D. Sneha has been appointed as the Collector of Chengalpattu. S. Arunraj will assume charge in Perambalur, N.O. Sukhaputra in Virudhunagar, and S. Kandasamy in Erode. Additionally, Durga Murthy has been named Collector of Namakkal, and K. Porkodi will oversee administration in Sivaganga. These appointments are aimed at bolstering governance, expediting developmental initiatives, and ensuring efficient public service delivery across the districts.
New Commissioners have been also appointed to several Municipal Corporations across the state to enhance urban governance and civic administration. M.P. Amith has been named Commissioner of Tiruppur Corporation, while Monica Rana will take charge as Commissioner of Tirunelveli Corporation. V. Madhubalan has been appointed Commissioner of Tiruchi Corporation, and Banoth Mrugender Lal will assume responsibilities as Commissioner of Thoothukudi Corporation. Additionally, Nishant Krishna has been posted as Commissioner of Hosur Corporation, and Arpit Jain as Commissioner of Erode Corporation. These appointments are expected to bring renewed focus to urban infrastructure development, service delivery, and public engagement in their respective cities.
As part of the reshuffle, four officers have been appointed as Additional Collectors (Development) in key districts across Tamil Nadu. A. Priyanka has been posted in Cuddalore, Pallavi Verma in Tiruvarur, Abhilasha Kaur in The Nilgiris, and Divyanshu Nigam in Ramanathapuram.
