Baloh Among Top 8 Panchayats in Himachal Selected for ‘Samriddh Gram Panchayat’ Initiative

Baloh Gram Panchayat has been named among the top eight Panchayats across Himachal Pradesh selected for the prestigious ‘Samriddh Gram Panchayat’ initiative. Spearheaded by the Department of Telecommunication, Government of India, the initiative aims to digitally transform rural India through enhanced connectivity and digital inclusion.

The recognition marks a watershed moment for Baloh, positioning the village as a future-ready model of rural innovation, empowered by high-speed broadband and robust optical fiber infrastructure. The inclusion in this elite group reflects Baloh’s potential to emerge as a digitally driven hub that blends tradition with modern technology.

As part of this transformation, the Gram Panchayat office has also been granted Video Conferencing facility, further enhancing administrative efficiency and access to digital governance. This capability will enable real-time interaction with district and state-level authorities, support remote consultations, and promote seamless coordination for community development.

As part of the initiative, a dedicated Digital Access Committee has been established within the Gram Panchayat to spearhead local efforts.
