The Centre has reassigned 41 senior officers at the Joint Secretary level across various ministries and departments, according to an official order issued by the Ministry of Personnel.
Bhanu Prakash Yeturu, a 2003 batch IAS officer from the Rajasthan cadre, has been appointed as the Deputy Election Commissioner in the Election Commission of India.
The reshuffle also includes key appointments in the agriculture, defence, and finance sectors. Senior IAS officers Anbalagan P and Sanjay Kumar Agarwal will now serve as Joint Secretaries in the Department of Agriculture & Farmers Welfare. Their contemporaries, Manisha Chandra and Meera Mohanty, have been posted as Joint Secretaries in the Department of Defence Production.
In the Ministry of Defence, Ishita Ganguli Tripathy has been appointed as Joint Secretary and Additional Financial Advisor, reflecting a strategic reinforcement in financial oversight within the ministry.
Ashish Madhaorao will take charge as Joint Secretary in the Department of Financial Services, while Anshul Mishra, a 2004 batch IAS officer from the Tamil Nadu cadre, has been appointed Additional Director at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), New Delhi.
The reshuffle extends to trade and digital governance as well. Vrunda Manohar Desai, a senior officer of the Indian Revenue Service (Income Tax), will now serve as Additional Director General of Foreign Trade in Delhi.
In the technology sector, Ajit Kumar and Amod Kumar have been named Joint Secretaries in the Ministry of Electronics & Information Technology, underscoring the Centre’s focus on strengthening leadership in digital infrastructure and innovation.
Meanwhile, Krishna Kumar Nirala, a 2005 batch IAS officer from the Gujarat cadre, will assume charge as Joint Secretary in the Ministry of Information & Broadcasting. Vyasan R has been appointed as Joint Secretary in the Department of Economic Affairs, a crucial role in shaping fiscal and economic policy.
