CCI Invites Applications for Internship Program

The Competition Commission of India (CCI) has announced the opening of applications for its highly sought-after internship program. The program is designed for students specializing in economics, law, management, and finance, providing them with practical insights into the workings of competition law.

Program Details and Benefits

The CCI internship program is an ongoing opportunity, with internships commencing each month. Up to 15 interns will be selected monthly, though this number may be increased if there are numerous applicants with compelling research topics on competition law. Interns will receive a stipend of Rs 15,000 per month, along with a certificate upon successful completion of the internship.

Eligibility Criteria

The program is open to Indian nationals who are students from recognized institutions and universities with exposure to competition law. Notably, students with job placements in hand are not eligible to apply. The internship is available to:

  1. Economics and Management: MA/MSc (Economics), fourth and final year students of a 5-year integrated degree program in Economics, and MBA students.
  2. Law: Second and third-year students of a 3-year LLB, fourth and final-year students of a 5-year integrated law course, and LLM students.
  3. Regulatory Governance: MA/MSc (Regulatory Governance) students.
  4. Professional Courses: Final group students of Chartered Accountancy, Cost Accountancy, or Company Secretary courses.

Application Process

Interested candidates must apply using the prescribed format available in Annexure. Applications must include a recommendation from a competent authority at the candidate’s academic institution and a 200-word Statement of Purpose. The application should be submitted by the first day of the month preceding the intended internship start month. Applications can be mailed to:

The Secretary, Competition Commission of India, 10th Floor, Office Block, Tower 1, Ring Road (Opposite AIIMS), Kidwai Nagar (East), New Delhi-110023.

Alternatively, applications can be emailed to internships@cci.gov.in. Mailed applications should be superscribed with ‘Application for Internship for [Month/Year].’

Extended Internship Opportunities

While the standard duration of the internship is one month, candidates interested in a 2-3 month tenure may also apply, provided they have the necessary recommendations from their university or institution.

This internship program is an excellent opportunity for students to gain valuable experience and insights into competition law, preparing them for future careers in this critical field.
