New Delhi: The Ministry of Electronics and IT (MeitY) has officially announced the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the Centre for Nano Science and Engineering (CeNSE) at the Indian Institute of Science (IISc) in Bengaluru and Lam Research India at the ongoing SemiconIndia in Gandhinagar. This collaboration marks a significant milestone in the field of technology research and development in India.
The Ministry has initiated a collaboration that brings together the academic excellence of IISc’s CeNSE and the global expertise of Lam Research, a renowned supplier of innovative wafer fabrication equipment. Lam Research has set an ambitious goal to utilize Semiverse Solutions for the development of a strong workforce of 60,000 in nano fabrication in India over the next 10 years.
Lam Research and the Indian Institute of Science (IISc) are pleased to announce a collaboration to develop a customized course offering for Indian universities, dedicated to teaching semiconductor fabrication technology. This will utilize Lam Research’s cutting-edge Semiverse Solutions virtual fabrication software, SEMulator3D.
As part of this collaboration, IISc and Lam Research will develop the framework for the pilot course syllabus. The first stage of the syllabus is expected to be completed by December 2023, with the second stage anticipated to be concluded by June 2024.
