New Delhi: The Directorate General of Training (DGT), in collaboration with Amazon Web Services (AWS) India, aims to enhance students’ skills and employability in cloud computing, data annotation, artificial intelligence (AI), and machine learning (ML). This initiative will have a positive impact on students enrolled in DGT institutions, which include about 15,000 Industrial Training Institutes (ITIs) and 33 National Skill Training Institutes (NSTIs) across India.
As a part of this collaborative effort, AWS India will offer individuals with free self-paced online learning programs in emerging technologies. This learning content will be accessible through DGT’s Bharat Skills platform (https://bharatskills.gov.in), which serves as a central repository of updated curriculum, course content, blended learning materials, question banks, and instructional videos for all courses under the Craftsmen Training Scheme (CTS) and Crafts Instructor Training Scheme (CITS).

Secretary of the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship (MSDE) Atul Kumar Tiwari, highlighted the importance of providing students with training opportunities in high-demand, emerging technologies. He expressed satisfaction at the collaboration with AWS, which enables students from ITIs and NSTIs to acquire sought-after skills and gain hands-on experience in key areas like cloud computing, data annotation, AI, and ML. The assistance offered by AWS in training faculty members will prove invaluable, empowering them to deliver enhanced learning outcomes.
By offering industry-relevant AWS-based curriculum and learning resources to learners and educators, AWS is investing in education at large, and developing India’s future digital workforce.
AWS India will also facilitate DGT in offering training programs for individuals in data annotation and labeling. This will be accomplished by utilizing Amazon Sage Maker Ground Truth, a specialized service provided by AWS that allows for efficient labeling of training data for machine learning on a large scale. Additionally, AWS will equip designated educational institutions under DGT with a comprehensive cloud computing curriculum that prepares students for industry-recognized certifications and career opportunities in the thriving field of cloud computing.
