The Government of India has announced a series of senior-level bureaucratic appointments, additional charges, and tenure extensions across multiple ministries and departments, as part of routine administrative restructuring aimed at enhancing governance efficiency and policy continuity.
According to official notifications, the following officers have been assigned new responsibilities or extended tenures:
New Appointments

Vinay Sheel Gautam (IRS IT: 2009) has been appointed as Director in the Ministry of Cooperation for a period of five years.

Bhupinder Kumar (IAS: 2011: AGMUT) has been appointed as Director in the Ministry of Petroleum & Natural Gas for a five-year term.

Yuvraj Pal Singh (IRS IT: 2015) has been appointed as Deputy Secretary in the Ministry of Environment, Forest & Climate Change for a four-year period.

Amit Sharma (IAS: 2012: AGMUT) has been appointed as Director of Census Operations / Director of Citizen Registration (Deputy Secretary Level), Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh, on a full-time basis until December 31, 2025.
Additional Charges

Debashree Mukherjee (IAS: 1991: AGMUT), Secretary, Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship, has been given additional charge of Secretary, Ministry of Micro, Small & Medium Enterprises (MSME) from November 8 to November 16, 2025, during the leave period of Subhas Chandra Lal Das (IAS: 1992: AGMUT).

Vineet Joshi (IAS: 1992: MN), Secretary, Department of Higher Education, will hold the additional charge of Secretary, Department of School Education & Literacy from November 8 to November 16, 2025, during the leave of Sanjay Kumar (IAS: 1990: BH).
Tenure Extensions

Karan Thapar (IRS C&CE: 2009), Director, Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT), has received a one-year tenure extension beyond February 16, 2026, up to February 16, 2027. Thapar has been on central deputation since February 17, 2020.

Kuldeep Dwivedi (IPS: 2005: JH), Joint Director, Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), has been granted a two-year extension beyond January 17, 2026, making it a total tenure of seven years.
Repatriation

V. Hekali Zhimomi (IAS: 1996: UP), Additional Secretary, Department of Health & Family Welfare, Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, has been repatriated to her parent cadre — Government of Uttar Pradesh — on request.
These changes highlight the Centre’s focus on maintaining leadership continuity and strengthening inter-ministerial coordination across key policy and administrative domains.
