Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis held a meeting with officials from the School Education Department to review the 100-day action plan aimed at revitalizing the state’s education system. The action plan, presented by School Education Minister Dadaji Bhuse, focuses on adopting the CBSE curriculum and transforming select schools into model institutions.
CBSE Curriculum Adoption
A key highlight of the action plan is the implementation of the revised State Curriculum Framework for School Education (SCF-SE), which incorporates the CBSE pattern with modifications tailored for Maharashtra. The revised curriculum will take effect in the current academic year, promising a robust foundation for students.
Model Schools Initiative
The plan envisions transforming at least one school in every cluster into a model school, known as “CM Shri School,” inspired by the Centre’s PM Shri Schools initiative. These schools will be equipped with smart classrooms to foster a modern learning environment.
Recognition of Excellence
Teachers who excel in innovative teaching methods will be recognized as role models under this initiative. Furthermore, schools will be ranked based on overall quality to promote healthy competition and ensure consistent improvement.
Infrastructure and Inclusivity
Bhuse emphasized the need to equip Marathi-medium schools with superior infrastructure through government schemes and corporate social responsibility (CSR) funds. Geo-tagging and mapping of schools and Anganwadi centers, along with the implementation of the National Education Policy, were also highlighted as critical steps.
The plan also includes measures to integrate children from marginalized communities, such as brick kiln workers and sugarcane laborers, into the mainstream education system.
Marathi Language Policies
In an effort to preserve and promote Marathi culture, the plan mandates the inclusion of the state song in all schools and underscores the importance of effective implementation of Marathi language policies.
