The Department of Administrative Reforms and Public Grievances (DARPG) has unveiled the Annual NeSDA Way Forward Report 2023, showcasing the substantial advancements made by States and Union Territories (UTs) in the realm of e-Services provision under the NeSDA Framework.
Throughout the year, DARPG facilitated three Regional Conferences in Bhopal, Mumbai, and Guwahati, graced by the presence of Dr. Jitendra Singh, Minister of State (PP), and esteemed dignitaries from various State Governments. These gatherings served as platforms to deliberate on strategies for promoting e-Services effectively.
The latest statistics reveal a noteworthy surge in the number of e-Services offered by States and UTs, totaling 16,487 in December 2023, compared to 11,614 in April 2023. This remarkable leap is attributed to the relentless endeavors of State/UT Governments, facilitated by DARPG’s monthly meetings, comprehensive reviews, and the sharing and replication of best practices. Notably, the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir leads the pack with the highest number of e-Services, totaling 1,117.
The report highlights that States and UTs have achieved a saturation level of 76% in delivering mandatory e-Services, marking an increase from 69% under NeSDA 2021. A key objective of the NeSDA Way Forward initiative was the adoption of e-Service delivery through a Single Unified Portal by States and UTs. Kerala, Assam, Odisha, and the UT of Jammu and Kashmir have achieved 100% e-Service provision through their respective unified portals, while others have also made significant strides.
DARPG has been instrumental in disseminating best practices across States and UTs, aiming to promote faceless and entitlement-based delivery of services. In 2023, the department published nine NeSDA Way Forward monthly reports, covering seven sectors and featuring over 40 best practices. Additionally, DARPG engaged with RTS Commissioners/Appellate Officers to enhance e-Service delivery and organized Brainstorming Sessions with Industry Leaders to explore emerging e-Governance initiatives and technologies.
The NeSDA Way Forward Report 2023 reflects the collective commitment of stakeholders towards leveraging technology to enhance governance and deliver citizen-centric services efficiently.
