Deadline Extended for National Means cum Merit Scholarship Scheme

The last date for submission of applications under the National Means cum Merit Scholarship Scheme (NMMSS) for the academic year 2023-24 has been extended until 9th February, 2024. The NMMSS aims to support meritorious students from economically weaker backgrounds, ensuring they continue their education beyond Class VIII.

Under this scheme, one lakh fresh scholarships are awarded annually to selected students from Class IX onwards, with a renewal option for classes X to XII. Each scholarship amounts to Rs. 12,000 per annum and is directly disbursed into the beneficiaries’ bank accounts via the Public Financial Management System (PFMS).

Eligible students, whose parental income does not exceed Rs. 3,50,000 per annum, must have scored a minimum of 55% marks in their Class VII examination to qualify for the selection test. The deadline for Institute Nodal Officer (INO) level verification is 15th February, 2024, and for District Nodal Officer (DNO) level verification, it is 26th February, 2024.

Applicants can apply through the National Scholarship Portal (NSP), which serves as a comprehensive platform for various scholarship schemes.
