Delhi Government to Redevelop MCD Schools in 5-7 Years, Says Arvind Kejriwal

New Delhi: On Monday, Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal promised to redevelop all MCD schools within the next five to seven years, stating that the government has decreased the disparity between the rich and the poor in the Delhi education system by enhancing government schools.

Speaking after inaugurating Sarvodaya Co-ed school in Libaspur village, Kejriwal stated that the school's classrooms, laboratories, library, and halls are much better than those of private schools in Delhi.

Kejriwal claimed that the state of government schools in Delhi was previously terrible, with classes held in tents, broken school ceilings, no toilets or drinking water, and poor families compelled to send their children to such schools. However, the government has bridged the gap between the rich and poor in Delhi education, he stated.

The CM also stated that the Delhi government has been concentrating on improving the Municipal Corporation of Delhi-run schools.

He said that the government has started to focus on redeveloping MCD schools and that it will take at least five to seven years. Kejriwal added that the government is prioritizing creating job opportunities for the youth, who have received a good education yet haven't found a job.
