In a fresh wave of bureaucratic reshuffle, the central government has reassigned key responsibilities to three senior IAS officers across important departments, aiming to bolster administrative efficiency. The Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) issued formal orders confirming the changes.
Amit Kumar, a 2010 batch IAS officer of the Jharkhand cadre, has been appointed as Private Secretary to the Minister of Tribal Affairs, Jual Oram. His posting at the Director level has been cleared by the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet for a term of five years or until further notice.
Meanwhile, Abhilaksh Likhi (IAS: 1991, Haryana), currently serving as Secretary in the Department of Fisheries, has been given additional charge of Secretary, Department of Animal Husbandry and Dairying. This temporary arrangement, effective from April 25 to May 6, 2025, comes as Secretary Alka Upadhyaya (IAS: 1990, Madhya Pradesh) proceeds on leave.
Seema Jain (IAS: 1991, Punjab), presently Member Finance in the Space Commission, has been assigned additional responsibility as Member Finance in the Atomic Energy Commission. She takes over the role following the exit of Pankaj Kumar Mishra (IRS-IT: 1989). Jain will manage both positions until a permanent appointment is made or until further orders are issued.
