Dinesh Hariram Mate Appointed DDG in Shipping; Brajesh Kumar Tripathy Gets Tenure Extension at Coal India

The Government of India has announced a series of senior-level administrative appointments and tenure extensions across key departments, including the Ministry of Ports, Shipping & Waterways, Department of Agriculture & Farmers Welfare, and Coal India Limited.

According to official notifications:

  • Dinesh Hariram Mate (IA&AS: 2012) has been appointed as Deputy Director General (DDG) at the Deputy Secretary level in the Directorate General of Shipping, Mumbai, under the Ministry of Ports, Shipping & Waterways. His appointment will be for a period of four years.

  • Purna Chandra Kishan (IAS: 2005: RJ), serving as Joint Secretary in the Department of Agriculture & Farmers Welfare, has been prematurely repatriated to his parent cadre on personal grounds.

  • The tenure of Brajesh Kumar Tripathy (IRSE: 1998) as Chief Vigilance Officer (CVO), Coal India Limited (CIL), Kolkata, has been extended for two years, up to November 15, 2027.

These decisions reflect the government’s ongoing efforts to strengthen leadership across key administrative and strategic sectors, ensuring continuity and efficiency in governance and policy implementation.
