Union Minister for Labour & Employment and Minister for Youth Affairs and Sports, Dr. Mansukh Mandaviya, today handed over appointment letters to 34 newly recruited Labour Enforcement Officers (LEOs) at a ceremony held in New Delhi. The event witnessed the presence of Secretary, Labour & Employment, Smt. Sumita Dawra, and other senior officials of the Ministry.
Addressing the new appointees, Dr. Mandaviya congratulated them and urged them to uphold the principles of integrity, dedication, and commitment in their roles. He emphasized their critical role in fostering harmonious industrial relations, ensuring compliance with labour laws, and promoting workers’ welfare.
Your responsibilities are integral to shaping a fair and inclusive labour environment. Approach your duties with a pro-people and pro-nation spirit, maintaining the highest standards of service, Dr. Mandaviya said. He also highlighted their significant contributions to the nation’s progress by maintaining a service-oriented and ethical approach.
Smt. Sumita Dawra, in her remarks, underscored the dual importance of the newly appointed officers in enhancing the ease of doing business while safeguarding labour welfare. As Inspector-cum-Facilitators, you will play a pivotal role in economic growth and the betterment of employment conditions. Your efforts will contribute to effective implementation of government welfare schemes, she said.
She further lauded the strong academic and professional background of the officers. Among the 34 appointees, 20 hold law degrees, eight are management graduates, one is a Chartered Accountant, and one is a PhD scholar. These officers have been posted across India based on merit to serve in the Central Industrial Relations Machinery (CIRM).
The ceremony marked the beginning of a promising journey for the newly inducted officers, as they take on the responsibility of upholding labour rights and fostering an environment conducive to economic development and social welfare.
