Dr. Sanjeev Kumar Sinha has officially taken charge as the Director (Operations) of Hindustan Copper Ltd. (HCL) with effect from March 9, 2025. His appointment follows Order No. Met.3-10/4/2023-Met.III dated March 7, 2025, issued by the Ministry of Mines, Government of India.
Dr. Sinha is a distinguished Mining Engineer from Nagpur University and holds a First-Class Mines Manager certification under the Mines and Minerals Regulation (MMR) 1961. He further strengthened his academic credentials with an MBA in Human Resources from IGNOU and a PhD in Mining Engineering from IIT (ISM) Dhanbad.
With over 25 years of experience at NMDC Ltd., Dr. Sinha brings extensive expertise in mine planning, production, processing, lease acquisition, and operational expansion. Prior to his appointment at HCL, he served as the Head of Mine Planning and Chief of the Internal Safety Organization at NMDC Ltd. Throughout his career, he has played a pivotal role in advancing technological innovations, including the introduction of SME Explosive applications and the implementation of modern mine planning software such as Surpac, MineSched, and Whittle.
