Extension of Central Deputation Tenure Approved for IAS Officer Darpan Jain

The Cabinet Appointments Committee has granted approval for the extension of the central deputation tenure of distinguished IAS officer Darpan Jain. This decision comes following a commendation from the Department of Commerce, Ministry of Commerce and Industry.

Darpan Jain, a seasoned civil servant belonging to the 2001 batch of the Karnataka cadre, has been entrusted with the responsibility of continuing his service as Joint Secretary in the esteemed Department of Commerce (DoC). The extension spans an additional two years beyond the originally stipulated tenure, which was scheduled to conclude on February 19, 2024. This extension remains effective until further notifications are issued.

He holds a Master of Technology (M.Tech) degree in Industrial Engineering from the prestigious Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Delhi. Furthermore, his academic accomplishments extend to a Master’s degree in Science from the esteemed London School of Economics & Political Science, London.
