With the aim of enhancing the skill set of individuals in the burgeoning field of Robotics, S Krishnan (IAS), Secretary, the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY), officially inaugurated the Robotic Process Automation (RPA) Lab at NIELIT Gorakhpur during the 26th All India Director’s Meet of NIELIT.
The cutting-edge RPA laboratory is established as part of the Future Skill PRIME Project, funded by MeitY, to facilitate the upskilling and reskilling of individuals in the emerging field of Robotic Process Automation (RPA). This pioneering lab in Uttar Pradesh, established under the FutureSkill PRIME Project, serves as a vital bridge between Industry and Academia, marking a significant milestone in the state.
Speaking about the role of RPA, S Krishnan said, ‘This state-of-the-art RPA lab is going to play a pivotal role in transforming India into a global technology powerhouse. The role of RPA in improving services to citizens by automating repetitive, manual processes such as data entry and verification, thereby reducing clerical errors and response time.’
Further emphasizing, he stated, ‘The role of NIELIT in bridging the gap between formal and non- formal digital skilling and suggested that NIELIT- should continue to work to skill the youth of Uttar Pradesh to create skilled manpower for local industries as well as global companies.’
He also highlighted the importance of skilling for manufacturing sector especially in Industry 4.0 by NIELIT and supported the intervention of NIELIT in creating local entrepreneurs through digital skilling.
The two-day long 26th All India Director’s Meet of NIELIT held on 16th & 17th October, 2023 at the NIELIT Centre Gorakhpur and was addressed by Shri S Krishnan (IAS), Secretary, MeitY. The Meeting was attended by all the Executive Directors, Directors and Director In-Charges of all the 49 NIELIT Centres across the India. The objective of Directors Meet is to harness the capabilities and resources available with the Centres & to bring collective efforts and plans towards addressing digital skilling needs of the country.
While addressing the Director’s Meet, Economic Advisor, MeitY, Shri Kuntal Sensarma appreciated the efforts of NIELIT and its role in the field of skill development in IT and Electronics through its skill- based courses and non-formal courses and keeping pace with the latest advancements in technologies and its role in North Eastern region and tough areas.
