GeM Expands e-Learning Training Courses to 12 Official Languages

The Government e Marketplace (GeM) has expanded its e-Learning Training Courses, now available in twelve official languages. Launched earlier this year, GeM’s Learning Management System (LMS) has been enhanced to include Assamese, Bengali, English, Gujarati, Hindi, Kannada, Malayalam, Marathi, Odiya, Punjabi, Tamil, and Telugu. This initiative aims to make the interactive and SCORM-compliant e-Learning courses more accessible to users across India.

GeM’s multilingual LMS provides a user-friendly interface, complete with dedicated libraries and a progress tracking dashboard. The platform offers a Four-level Buyer Certification program designed to empower users with comprehensive learning and valuable certifications. Users can choose their learning paths based on topics or certification levels, optimizing their training efficiency.

CEO of GeM, Prashant Kumar Singh, emphasized the importance of multilingual training tools: ‘With the emphasis on utilization of GeM for procurement by all government agencies, it was imperative that proper avenues of learning be provided to stakeholders. The interactive & multilingual LMS, available in 12 official languages, ensures better comprehension of intricate public procurement processes, enhancing GeM portal’s adoption among State/Local Government Buyers and last-mile sellers across India.’

Since its launch four months ago, the GeM LMS has seen a 32-fold increase in user registration, with over 4,000 users enrolled in various courses and more than 600 Buyer certificates issued. This growth highlights the platform’s effectiveness in meeting the training and capacity-building needs of GeM users.

Designed meticulously for Government Buyers, Sellers/Service Providers, and all GeM users, the new training courses cater to the specific needs and skill levels of participants, allowing them to understand the GeM ecosystem at their own pace. By aligning with international learning and development standards, GeM’s LMS sets a new benchmark for government learning and capability-building platforms.

The interactive, multilingual courses ensure that all users, regardless of location or language proficiency, can gain the skills needed to navigate GeM effectively. Through this engaging and inclusive learning experience, GeM is fostering trust and encouraging wider adoption among its users.
