Raksha Rajya Mantri Sanjay Seth reaffirmed the Government’s dedication to bolstering the capabilities of Public Sector Undertakings (PSUs) during his visit to Bharat Electronics Limited (BEL) in Bengaluru. He emphasized the Government’s commitment to providing necessary support and guidance to PSUs, urging them to enhance their performance and competitiveness in today’s challenging environment.
Addressing BEL officials, Sanjay Seth lauded the PSU’s significant contributions to the Make in India initiative and Aatmanirbharta (self-reliance). He highlighted BEL’s achievements, including the development of numerous indigenous equipment and systems in collaboration with the Defence Research & Development Organization (DRDO) and the Airports Authority of India (AAI). BEL’s impressive feat of securing 150 patents this year was noted as a testament to its role in reinforcing Aatmanirbharta.
During his visit, Sanjay Seth toured various facilities, including the Precision Manufacturing Facility at the Advanced Defence Systems Navy (ADSN) Strategic Business Unit (SBU), the Military Radars SBU, and the state-of-the-art EMI/EMC Lab. He received demonstrations of the Coastal Surveillance System and the Perimeter Security System. Additionally, he visited the Smart City Experience Centre and the Product Development and Innovation Centre (PDIC), where he witnessed ongoing innovation, research, and development of cutting-edge defence and security solutions.
He also engaged with engineers, scientists, and researchers involved in next-generation projects, commending their efforts and encouraging continued excellence.
