Government Plans to Establish Bharat Semiconductor Research Centre in 2024

MoS Rajeev Chandrasekhar reveals that the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (Meity) will commence the establishment of the Bharat Semiconductor Research Centre in collaboration with industry and academia in early 2024.

The minister emphasized the Prime Minister’s goal for India to attain leadership roles in semiconductor research. Rajeev Chandrasekhar added that an assembly of leading global and domestic semiconductor experts has collaborated to design the Bharat Semiconductor Research Centre.

The proposed Semiconductor Research Centre is envisioned to be a premier global institution dedicated to semiconductor research. The experts have meticulously formulated and compiled the design, focus areas, and other pertinent details into an exceptional report. The projected initiation of this institution in 2024 is a promising development.
