Gujarat to be the first state to use 5G technology for governance

Chief Secretary Pankaj Kumar instructed all secretaries, particularly those in charge of the urban development, panchayat, and rural housing departments, to prepare to formally adopt it for governance and government work at the committee of secretaries (COS) meeting held last week, according to sources.

In an effort to encourage the expansion of the 5G network in the state, the government is anticipated to provide a concessional rate policy to 5G technology businesses. According to insiders, the administration might also permit educational institutions to employ 5G technology.

According to reports, the state administration has also requested each of its agencies to create an action plan for implementing the technology in daily governance. All departments must submit a report to the chief secretary in the coming days outlining their preparations to adopt 5G Technology
