Senior IAS officer N.B.S. Rajput has been appointed as the Principal Secretary of the Public Enterprises Department, Government of Odisha. Alongside this new responsibility, he will continue to serve as the CMD of the Odisha State Road Transport Corporation (OSRTC), taking on dual roles at a crucial juncture for the state’s public sector and transport infrastructure.
A 1999-batch officer of the Odisha cadre, Rajput is a Mechanical Engineering graduate from Maulana Azad National Institute of Technology (MANIT), Bhopal. He previously held the post of Principal Secretary to the Governor of Odisha.
In his new role, Rajput will be responsible for policy formulation, enhancing operational efficiency, and improving the performance of the state’s PSUs.
With over 25 years of administrative experience, Rajput is known for his reform-oriented leadership. His career includes significant stints at both the state and central levels. He has served as Joint Secretary in the Department of Administrative Reforms & Public Grievances under the Government of India, Divisional Commissioner of Sambalpur, and Commissioner of Land Records and Settlement. He has also held the position of District Collector in multiple districts across Odisha and Madhya Pradesh.
