The Odisha government has appointed senior IAS officer Nikunja Bihari Dhal (1993 batch of the Odisha cadre) as the Additional Chief Secretary (ACS) to the Chief Minister. The Department of General Administration and Public Grievance (GA&PG) announced the appointment in an official notification.
Prior to this appointment, he served as the Chief Electoral Officer of Odisha since March 2023. His extensive career in public service includes notable positions such as Special Relief Commissioner, Special Residence Commissioner in New Delhi, and Commercial Tax Commissioner.
Throughout his tenure, Dhal has contributed significantly to various state government departments, including Energy, Health and Family Welfare, Revenue and Disaster Management, Panchayati Raj, Industries, Excise, and Water Resources. His multifaceted experience in these critical areas underscores his capability to handle the responsibilities as the ACS to the Chief Minister.
