The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) has empanelled two distinguished IAS officers, Dr. Ravi Kota and Prashant Kumar Singh, for Secretary/Secretary Equivalent level positions in the Government of India.
Dr. Ravi Kota, a seasoned bureaucrat of the 1993 batch from the Assam cadre, currently holds the pivotal position of Chief Secretary in Assam. With a distinguished career trajectory, Dr. Kota has previously served in various key capacities, including Additional Chief Secretary for the Home & Political Department and the Industries, Commerce & Public Enterprises Department. His expertise spans crucial areas such as Passport and Prisons management, alongside substantial contributions in the Finance Department.
Similarly, IAS officer Prashant Kumar Singh, hailing from the Manipur cadre and also from the 1993 batch, has been earmarked for top-level administrative roles. Presently serving as the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Government e-Marketplace (GeM) Special Purpose Vehicle (SPV) under the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, Kumar has exhibited exemplary leadership in his current role. His prior responsibilities as the Principal Secretary and CEO of the Election Department in Manipur underscore his proficiency in overseeing diverse sectors like Urban Development, Public Health Engineering, Personnel, and General Administration.
