Indian Startups Go Global: PM Modi Praises India’s Dynamic Youth and Entrepreneurial Spirit

Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed his pride and joy over the international achievements of Indian startups, particularly in futuristic sectors, as he marked nine years of the Startup India initiative today. Emphasizing the program’s transformative impact, he hailed the creativity and determination of India’s youth, which have made the nation a hub for entrepreneurial innovation.

The Prime Minister shared his thoughts on social media platform X, saying:
‘Delighted that our Indian StartUps are making an international imprint, especially in futuristic sectors. Proud of the strength and skills of India’s Yuva Shakti, which has made India among the most attractive places for StartUps! #9YearsOfStartupIndia.’

Highlighting the significance of the Startup India initiative, PM reflected on how it has empowered young innovators over the past nine years, turning ideas into successful businesses and contributing to India’s transformation into a dynamic, confident, and future-ready nation.

‘Today, we mark #9YearsOfStartupIndia, a landmark initiative that has redefined innovation, entrepreneurship, and growth. This is a programme very close to my heart, as it has emerged as a powerful way of furthering youth empowerment,’  PM Modi wrote.

He also reiterated the government’s commitment to fostering an entrepreneurial ecosystem, stating:
‘As far as the Government is concerned, we have left no stone unturned to encourage a culture of StartUps. This success of StartUpIndia reflects that today’s India is dynamic, confident, and future-ready. I compliment every youngster in the StartUp world and urge more youngsters to pursue this. It’s my assurance you won’t be disappointed!’

The Startup India initiative, launched on 16 January 2016, has played a pivotal role in nurturing entrepreneurial talent and innovation across the country. Over the years, it has facilitated numerous policy reforms, funding opportunities, and skill development programs, positioning India as one of the most attractive destinations for startups globally.

The hashtag #9YearsOfStartupIndia trended throughout the day, with stakeholders and entrepreneurs joining in to celebrate the milestone, sharing success stories, and expressing gratitude for the government’s efforts to build a robust startup ecosystem.

As the nation celebrates this landmark achievement, the Prime Minister’s words inspire the next generation of innovators to dream big and contribute to the vision of Aatmanirbhar Bharat.
