IPS A Arun Designated as Commissioner of Police, Chennai

Tamil Nadu government has appointed IPS officer A Arun position as Commissioner of Police, Greater Chennai and transferred Sandeep Rai Rathore.

A Arun, who currently holds the position of Additional Director General of Police (ADGP), Law and Order, will assume his new role as the ADGP/Commissioner of Police, Greater Chennai Police. This appointment comes following an order from Principal Secretary P Amudha of the Home (SC) Department. The order also notes that Arun’s new post will be a downgraded position from the previous DGP/CoP rank held by Rathore.

Sandeep Rai Rathore has been reassigned as the Director General of Police (DGP) of the Police Training College in Chennai, replacing Rajeev Kumar, IPS. Additionally, Senior IPS officer S Davidson Devasirvatham, who was serving as ADGP, Headquarters, Chennai, will take over as ADGP, Law and Order, succeeding A Arun.
