With an aim to advancing innovation and research in the renewable energy sector, the Indian Renewable Energy Development Agency Ltd. (IREDA) has entered into a MoU with the Indian Institute of Technology Bhubaneswar. The MoU was formalized on last week, during a Conclave hosted at IIT Bhubaneswar.
The primary objective of this collaboration is to foster joint research endeavors, facilitate the exchange of technology, and nurture the burgeoning start-up ecosystem within the renewable energy domain. Through concerted efforts, both institutions are poised to drive impactful initiatives that contribute to sustainable development.
The MoU signing ceremony witnessed the participation of eminent dignitaries including Dharmendra Pradhan, Union Minister for Education, Skill Development & Entrepreneurship, and Prof. Shreepad Karmalkar, Director of IIT Bhubaneswar.
Pradip Kumar Das, Chairman & Managing Director of IREDA, emphasized the significance of this partnership, stating, ‘This collaboration with IIT Bhubaneswar signifies a pivotal moment in our quest to promote innovation and sustainable growth in the renewable energy sector. By harnessing the collective expertise and resources of both organizations, we aspire to spearhead impactful research initiatives that drive progress in renewable energy.’
Key areas of focus under the MoU include joint research endeavors, technology transfer initiatives, and comprehensive support for start-ups. Additionally, capacity-building initiatives such as training programs, seminars, and workshops will be conducted to enhance the skill sets of IREDA officials, ensuring a robust foundation for future endeavors.
