The Indian Renewable Energy Development Agency Limited (IREDA) has sanctioned over ₹3,000 crore for renewable energy projects in Odisha, reaffirming its support for the state’s ambitious goal of achieving 10 GW renewable energy capacity by 2030. This announcement was made by Shri Pradip Kumar Das, Chairman and Managing Director of IREDA, during his special address at the Odisha Solar Investor Conclave organized by GRIDCO in Bhubaneswar.

Shri Das underscored the pivotal role of accessible and affordable financing in expediting renewable energy (RE) projects. IREDA stands committed to fostering seamless support for green energy initiatives, he remarked.

In his address, Shri Das emphasized Odisha’s immense potential to become a leading solar power producer and a hub for solar equipment manufacturing. He noted that IREDA has already extended financial assistance across various sectors, including solar, hydro, ethanol, and renewable energy manufacturing, showcasing its dedication to facilitating the state’s green energy transition.

CMD also shared IREDA’s significant national contributions, revealing that the organization has sanctioned over ₹2.08 lakh crore and disbursed ₹1.36 lakh crore for renewable energy projects across India.
