PM Modi Distributes 71,000 Appointment Letters at Rozgar Mela, Highlights Government’s Job Creation Efforts

Prime Minister Narendra Modi distributed 71,000 appointment letters for government jobs at a nationwide Rozgar Mela on Monday, marking another milestone in the government’s employment generation initiatives. The event was held at 45 locations across India, with the Prime Minister addressing the newly appointed candidates virtually.

‘Today marks a new beginning for thousands of youth in the country. Your years of dreams have come true, and your hard work has paid off. This outgoing year of 2024 is bringing new happiness to you. I extend my heartfelt congratulations to all of you and your families,’ Modi said during his speech.

The Rozgar Mela is part of the government’s broader agenda to address unemployment and bolster public sector hiring. The Prime Minister’s Office, in a press release, stated that over one million permanent jobs have been offered by the government in the last one and a half years.

The Prime Minister also emphasized the significance of youth in India’s growth story. ‘The youth are the backbone of our Vikasit Bharat (Developed India) vision,’ Modi said, adding that the government would host a Vikasit Bharat Young Leaders Dialogue on January 11 and 12 at Bharat Mandapam, Delhi, to celebrate Youth Day.
