KTCT Higher Secondary School in Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala, has unveiled ‘Iris’, India’s inaugural generative AI teacher. Developed in collaboration with Makerlabs Edutech Private Limited, this humanoid educator marks a significant advancement in the fusion of artificial intelligence with education, poised to revolutionize students’ learning experiences.

‘Iris’ is packed with cutting-edge features, including multilingual capabilities and the prowess to tackle intricate queries, promising tailored learning journeys for each student. With its voice assistance, interactive modules, manipulative abilities, and mobility, ‘Iris’ stands as a beacon of innovation in educational technology.

Described by Makerlabs as an innovative educational voice assistant, ‘Iris’ assures seamless performance and adaptability within the classroom setting, powered by Robotics and Generative AI technologies.

The development of ‘Iris’ was made possible under the Atal Tinkering Lab (ATL) project by NITI Aayog, signifying a significant leap towards modernizing education. Equipped with an Intel processor and dedicated coprocessor, ‘Iris’ ensures an immersive learning experience for students, setting a new standard in educational technology.
