In a ceremonious handover on May 31st, Major General Harsh Chhibber officially assumed the prestigious role of Commandant at the College of Defence Management, Secunderabad, succeeding Rear Admiral Sanjay Datt.
An alumnus of the esteemed National Defence Academy, Major General Chhibber was commissioned into the Army Service Corps in December 1988. His academic pursuits are equally impressive, boasting a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Public Policy, complemented by dual M.Phil degrees in Business Management and Public Administration. His thirst for knowledge and professional development is evident through his completion of notable courses such as the Technical Staff Officers Course (TSOC), Higher Defence Management Course (HDMC), and the Advanced Professional Programme in Public Administration (APPPA).
Throughout his illustrious tenure, Major General Chhibber has held pivotal roles across various sectors, including Eastern, Northern, and Western sectors. Noteworthy among his assignments are his command of the Para ASC company, an ASC Battalion, and the ASC Training Centre. He has also served as Brigadier General Staff (Information System) in the Eastern Sector and as Major General (Operational Logistics) in the Northern Sector.
His contributions extend beyond the battlefield; Major General Chhibber has played crucial instructional roles at the Army Service Corps Centre and College. Furthermore, his tenure as Directing Staff and Head of the Financial Management Department at the College of Defence Management underscores his commitment to nurturing the next generation of military leaders.
As Maj Gen Chhibber assumes his new role, the College of Defence Management anticipates continued excellence and advancement under his leadership, further solidifying its reputation as a premier institution for military education and training.
