MeitY Startup Hub Launches Samarth Portal 2.0 Featuring India’s First Voice AI Chatbot on a Government Website

The Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY) Startup Hub has marked a significant milestone in India’s digital transformation journey with the launch of Samarth Portal 2.0. The upgraded portal was unveiled by S. Krishnan, Secretary, MeitY, at the MSH DeepTech Arena during the Startup Mahakumbh.

A key highlight of Samarth 2.0 is the introduction of MeitY Mitra – an AI-powered, multilingual voice chatbot, developed with Liapplus AI technology. This innovation makes it the first-ever voice AI chatbot to be featured on a Government of India website, setting a new benchmark in accessibility and digital governance.

Designed to enhance user experience and increase inclusivity, MeitY Mitra supports multiple Indian languages, helping users across diverse linguistic backgrounds seamlessly interact with government services. The chatbot is a significant step towards smart governance, enabling faster information delivery, real-time assistance, and a user-friendly interface for startups and citizens alike.

To experience this new AI-enabled feature, users can visit the Samarth Portal at https://msh.meity.gov.in/.
