Kohima: In the nation’s ongoing Rozgar Mela, Rameshwar Teli, the Union Minister of State for Petroleum and Natural Gas and Labour & Employment, presided over the handout of appointment letters to new recruits. During the event in Dimapur, 111 individuals received their appointment letters. Additionally, through email, 86 more appointment letters were distributed.
Speaking on the occasion, the Union Minister said, ‘The government is committed to speed up employment generation, promote self-employment and empower the country’s youth under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.’
Apart from providing opportunities for the youth in the organised sector, we are also committed to improve the lives of those engaged in the unorganised sector through different Social Security initiatives, he said.
He further mentioned that a total of 29 Crore workers in the unorganised sector have already registered on the e-Shram portal, a national database of individuals engaged in the unorganised sector. The government’s top economic priority has been the creation of new employment opportunities. In order to enhance self-reliance and generate job prospects for women and the underprivileged, the government has introduced various initiatives such as Digital India, Smart City Mission, Atal Renewal and Urban Transformation Mission, and Self-reliant India.
On this particular occasion, he also emphasized the efforts being made by the Ministry of Labor and Employment to ensure the social security of the workers. The Ministry of Labour & Employment has launched ESIC 2.0, the Employees’ State Insurance Corporation, with the aim of completely modernizing its services and expanding its reach nationwide.
The newly appointed individuals are being granted the opportunity to enhance their skills through Karmayogi Prarambh, an online module available on the iGOT Karmayogi portal. This platform offers over 680 e-learning courses in a format that allows individuals to learn from anywhere and on any device.
Director NIT Nagaland Dr S Venugopal, Deputy Commissioner, Dimapur Sachin Jaiswal, Lunkhamong Singsit, Chief Manager, SBI Mandeep Guray, AGM (Admin), FCI also attended the programme.
A total of 51,000 candidates have been appointed nationwide on the occasion of the 9th Rozgar Mela. The Rozgar Mela took place at 46 locations across the country. These recruitments are happening in both Central Government and State Governments/UTs, all in support of this initiative. The new recruits, selected from various parts of the country, will be joining the Government in different Ministries and Departments.
