National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI) has announced new appointments, bringing onboard seasoned professionals Pravin Kumar and Benjamin Ambrose to spearhead crucial security functions.
Pravin Kumar, with an illustrious career spanning over 25 years in cybersecurity, has been appointed as NPCI’s Chief Market Information Security Officer (CMISO). Kumar brings a wealth of expertise in cybersecurity, privacy controls, and risk management to his new role. His responsibilities will encompass overseeing information security and privacy risks, ensuring regulatory compliance, and fostering robust engagement with stakeholders within and outside NPCI. Prior to joining NPCI, Kumar served as the Senior Vice President and Group CISO & DPO at Paytm, and held key positions at LIC.
Simultaneously, NPCI has welcomed Benjamin Ambrose as its Chief Information Security Officer (CISO). Ambrose, boasting over two decades of experience in information and cybersecurity, brings a formidable skill set to NPCI’s security apparatus. Tasked with managing security risks and upholding rigorous security standards, Ambrose will play a pivotal role in optimizing NPCI’s security measures, leveraging threat intelligence, and orchestrating advanced security operations. His previous roles include serving as a Senior Security Consultant at Amazon Web Services (AWS) in Singapore, along with tenures at Citi and Wipro Technologies, underscoring his deep-rooted understanding of global cybersecurity landscapes.
