In a significant milestone for the National Career Service (NCS) Portal, the Union Minister of State for Labour and Employment, Shri Rameshwar Teli, has disclosed that as of December 18, 2023, the platform boasts over 10.45 Lakhs active vacancies. The NCS Portal, a government initiative, serves as a comprehensive digital platform aimed at revolutionizing career-related services, fostering job matching, and facilitating career development across the nation.
Launched with a vision to provide diverse career services, such as job search and matching, career counselling, vocational guidance, and information on skill development courses, the NCS Portal has emerged as a catalyst for connecting jobseekers with employers on a singular platform. It acts as a beacon for the nation’s aspiring youth, offering valuable employment opportunities and comprehensive career development assistance.
Key Features of the NCS Portal:
- Career Counsellors: The portal boasts more than 1100 approved career counsellors, offering personalized guidance to jobseekers.
- Knowledge Repository: A comprehensive repository featuring information on over 3600 job roles, aiding informed career decisions.
- Employability Skill Assessment: Jobseekers can gauge their employability quotient through an online assessment.
- Training: Online employability enhancement training, focusing on both digital and soft skills, to empower individuals in the competitive job market.
- Collaboration: Integration with 28 State Employment portals, including direct use by 7 States/UTs, and partnerships with private job portals for seamless sharing of jobseeker data and vacancies.
- Government Collaborations: Integration with Udyam portal of the Ministry of Micro Small and Medium Enterprises, EPFO, and ESIC for automatic employer registration.
Year-wise Growth:
- 2020-2021: 78,367 employers registered, mobilizing 12,61,066 vacancies.
- 2021-2022: 52,863 employers registered, with 13,46,765 vacancies mobilized.
- 2022-2023: A substantial growth with 8,19,827 employers registering, leading to the mobilization of an impressive 34,81,944 vacancies.
The Union Minister highlighted the NCS Portal’s pivotal role in not only matching jobseekers with employment opportunities but also in providing a comprehensive support system for career development.
