The Public Enterprises Selection Board (PESB) on Monday recommended Arun Kumar Tyagi for the position of Director (Technical) at Northern Coalfields Limited (NCL), a Miniratna PSU under Coal India Limited.
Tyagi was selected after a competitive interview process involving 12 candidates. Subject to the requisite clearances and final approval from the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC), he will assume charge as Director (Technical), succeeding Sunil Prasad Singh, who superannuates on January 31, 2026.
Arun Kumar Tyagi is currently serving as General Manager & Area General Manager, Gevra, at South Eastern Coalfields Limited (SECL), where he has been instrumental in operational and production management across one of India’s largest coal mining areas.
His appointment is expected to strengthen NCL’s technical leadership as the company continues to expand production capabilities and advance operational efficiencies in line with Coal India’s strategic growth roadmap.
