PM Modi inaugurated 5.21 lakh houses of PMAY beneficiaries

Prime Minister Narendra Modi participated in ‘Grah Pravesham’, a ceremony organized to hand over new houses to their owners on Tuesday to inaugurate 5.21 lakh houses of Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojna (PMAY) – Gramin scheme’s beneficiaries in Madhya Pradesh.

Addressing the ceremony via video conferencing, PM Modi said his government has given a top priority to providing houses to needy people. Till now, 2.5 crore houses have been constructed under the PMAY scheme in the country, including 2 crores in rural areas.

PM Modi further added that six crore families were provided pure water tap connections in their houses under the Nal-Jal scheme in the country. Our policies ensure that even the last man in the queue is benefitted from the government schemes. He has urged the people to take a commitment to build 75 ‘Amrit Sarovar (ponds) in every district of the country in the next 12 months as the country marks 75 years of its independence.
