PM Modi Inaugurates Rs. 1 Lakh Crore Worth of National Highway Projects Across India

Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated and laid the foundation stone for 112 National Highway projects worth approximately Rs. One lakh crore in Gurugram, Haryana, on Monday.

One of the key highlights of the event was the dedication of the Haryana section of the Dwarka Expressway, a project that Prime Minister Modi described as transformative. He expressed joy over the positive impact this expressway will have on travel between Delhi and Haryana, stating that it will not only improve commute times but also enhance the lives of the people in the region.

Prime Minister Modi reiterated his government’s holistic vision for infrastructure development in the Delhi-NCR region, mentioning major projects like the Dwarka Expressway, Peripheral Expressways, and the Delhi-Meerut Expressway. These initiatives, along with metro expansions and new airport constructions, aim to alleviate traffic congestion and reduce pollution in the region.

In addition to the inauguration of the Haryana section of the Dwarka Expressway, other major projects inaugurated by Prime Minister Modi include the Lucknow Ring Road in Uttar Pradesh, the Anandapuram – Pendurthi – Anakapalli section of NH16 in Andhra Pradesh, the Kiratpur to Nerchowk section of NH-21 in Himachal Pradesh, and the Dobaspet – Heskote section in Karnataka, among others.

The Prime Minister also laid the foundation stone for various National Highway projects across the country, including the Bengaluru – Kadappa – Vijayawada Expressway in Andhra Pradesh, the Belgaum – Hungund – Raichur Section of NH-748A in Karnataka, the Shamli – Ambala Highway in Haryana, and the Amritsar – Bathinda corridor in Punjab.

These projects are expected to significantly enhance the National Highway network, promote socio-economic growth, create job opportunities, and boost trade and commerce in different regions of the country. Prime Minister Modi expressed confidence that this rapid pace of development will propel India to become the third-largest economic power in the world in the coming years.
