Prime Minister Narendra Modi marked a significant shift by bringing the spotlight of development to Azamgarh, Uttar Pradesh, instead of the traditional venues in Delhi. The Prime Minister, amidst a spirited crowd, inaugurated, dedicated, and laid the foundation stone for multiple transformative projects amounting to more than Rs 34,000 crores.
One of the highlights of the event was the inauguration and foundation laying of 15 airport projects across the nation, valued at over Rs 9800 crore. This includes the unveiling of 12 new Terminal Buildings in Pune, Kolhapur, Gwalior, Jabalpur, Delhi, Lucknow, Aligarh, Azamgarh, Chitrakoot, Moradabad, Shravasti, and Adampur Airports. Additionally, foundation stones were laid for new Terminal Buildings in Kadapa, Hubballi, and Belagavi Airports. Prime Minister Modi stressed that these efforts will greatly enhance air travel accessibility for citizens, citing the remarkable completion of the Gwalior terminal in just 16 months.
In line with his vision for robust infrastructure, the Prime Minister also highlighted the inauguration and foundation laying of several railway projects benefitting regions like Sitapur, Shahjahanpur, Gazipur, and Prayagraj. Azamgarh, Mau, and Balia were announced to receive the gift of numerous railway projects, promising enhanced connectivity and development opportunities.
Furthermore, Prime Minister Modi reiterated his commitment to rural infrastructure through the Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana, which saw the inauguration of over 5,000 kilometers of roads aimed at improving connectivity for farmers and youth in Eastern Uttar Pradesh.
The event also witnessed the dedication of the Light House Project (LHP) in Lucknow and Ranchi, providing more than 2000 affordable flats with modern infrastructure. These projects, utilizing innovative construction technologies, promise sustainable and futuristic living experiences for the residents.
Highlighting the government’s emphasis on housing for all, the Prime Minister also dedicated several road projects worth around Rs 11,500 crore and more than Rs 19,000 crore in Uttar Pradesh. These projects, including the Lucknow Ring Road, Chakeri to Allahabad Section of NH-2, and several others, aim to improve connectivity and socioeconomic development in the region.
The event also witnessed the inauguration and dedication of multiple sewage treatment plants and other essential projects in Prayagraj, Jaunpur, and Etawah, underscoring the government’s holistic approach towards sustainable development.
This ambitious array of projects, spanning airports, railways, roads, and housing, marks a significant milestone in India’s journey towards progress and prosperity, with Azamgarh at the forefront of this transformative narrative.
