PM Narendra Modi Inaugurates ONGC Sea Survival Centre in Goa

Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the ONGC Sea Survival Centre in Goa today. The Prime Minister, accompanied by the Chief Minister of Goa, Pramod Sawant, and Union Minister for Petroleum, Oil and Natural Gas, Hardeep Singh Puri, marked the occasion by witnessing a briefing on underwater escape exercises and a demonstration of the training center.

Taking to social media platform X, Prime Minister Modi expressed his delight in dedicating the state-of-the-art Sea Survival Centre to the nation. He hailed the center as a pivotal milestone in India’s efforts to bolster its capabilities in sea survival training. The center, equipped with advanced facilities, is poised to elevate India’s sea survival training ecosystem to global standards, offering rigorous and intense emergency response training.

Prime Minister Modi underscored the critical role of the Sea Survival Centre in potentially saving many lives during maritime emergencies, ensuring timely and effective responses. He shared a video elaborating on the necessity of a modern Sea Survival Centre and its numerous benefits for the nation’s safety and preparedness in the face of maritime challenges.

The ONGC Sea Survival Centre, developed as a one-of-a-kind integrated training facility, is designed to train 10,000-15,000 personnel annually. Through simulated and controlled exercises in harsh weather conditions, trainees will enhance their sea survival skills, significantly improving their chances of safe escape during real-life disasters at sea.

The inauguration of the Sea Survival Centre represents a significant stride towards enhancing India’s maritime safety infrastructure, aligning with the government’s commitment to ensuring the security and well-being of its citizens. With its cutting-edge training facilities and comprehensive programs, the center is poised to play a pivotal role in fostering a culture of safety and preparedness among maritime personnel across the nation.
