Pranab Kumar Patel Takes Additional Charge as CVO of South Eastern Coalfields Limited

Pranab Kumar Patel, an officer from the Indian Revenue Service (IRSS) batch of 1998, has been entrusted with the additional charge of Chief Vigilance Officer (CVO) at South Eastern Coalfields Limited (SECL), Bilaspur. Patel, who is currently serving as the CVO of Mahanadi Coalfields Limited (MCL) in Sambalpur, assumed this new role on June 12, 2024, for a period of six months.

In his expanded role, Patel will oversee vigilance activities in both MCL and SECL, ensuring the adherence to ethical standards and preventing corruption within the organizations. SECL and MCL, both subsidiaries of Coal India Limited, play a crucial role in coal production in India. The addition of Patel’s oversight is expected to strengthen vigilance measures across these organizations, promoting transparency and integrity in their operations.
