Pratap Singh, IRS (1991 Batch Officer)

Pratap Singh, an accomplished Indian Revenue Service (IRS) officer from the 1991 batch, currently serves as the Director General of Income Tax (Investigation) at the Government of India. With a career spanning over 34 years, he has demonstrated exceptional expertise in tax policy formulation, planning, and implementation. Previously, he has held the position of Principal Commissioner of Income Tax in both Delhi and Mumbai, heading some of the largest revenue commissionerate’s in the country.
An alumnus of IIT Kanpur with an MTech in Civil Engineering, he further enriched his academic credentials with a Ph.D. in Economics, an Executive MBA in Finance from Alliance University, and an LLB degree. A prolific researcher, he has authored two research papers and contributed to various reports in his field. Outside his professional accomplishments, Pratap Singh is a dedicated marathon runner and an avid golfer, embodying a balanced approach to life. His blend of academic brilliance, professional excellence, and personal interests makes him a distinguished leader in his domain.
