In a recent administrative reshuffle, President Droupadi Murmu has appointed new Governors for the states of Goa and Haryana, and a new Lieutenant Governor for the Union Territory of Ladakh.
Senior Telugu Desam Party leader and former Union Minister Ashok Gajapathi Raju has been appointed as the Governor of Goa. Known for his extensive experience in public service and administration, Raju’s appointment is expected to bolster coordination between the state and the Centre, with a renewed push towards Goa’s developmental priorities.
In Haryana, Ashim Kumar Ghosh has been named the new Governor. Ghosh brings with him a deep understanding of governance. His tenure is expected to focus on improving law and order, as well as advancing economic and social development in the state.
Meanwhile, senior BJP leader and former Deputy Chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir, Kavinder Gupta has been appointed the new Lieutenant Governor of Ladakh. His appointment follows the resignation of Brigadier (Dr.) B.D. Mishra (Retd.).
