President Murmu Completes One Year in Office

New Delhi: The President of India, Smt Droupadi Murmu completed her first year in office on July 25, 2023. She expressed her delight in the fact that Rashtrapati Bhavan has been able to establish connections with an increasing number of people using technology over the past year. With great confidence, she stated that the officials at Rashtrapati Bhavan will continue to strive for transparency and efficiency by harnessing the power of technology and innovation.

To mark the completion of one year of her presidency, she launched various projects at Rashtrapati Bhavan to mark the day. She laid the foundation stones (i) for the redevelopment of Shiva Temple situated in the President’s Estate and (ii) for the construction of a Cricket Pavilion at the Sports Ground of Dr. Rajendra Prasad Kendriya Vidyalaya, President’s Estate.

President also inaugurated Navachara – an Artificial Intelligence-enabled gallery developed by Rashtrapati Bhavan in collaboration with Intel India; Sutra-kala Darpan –a textile collection of Rashtrapati Bhavan and Janjatiya Darpan – a gallery to showcase the common and connecting cultural traits of various tribal communities.

On this momentous occasion, she launched the redeveloped website of the President of India and Rashtrapati Bhavan and released a compilation of glimpses of the past year of the Presidency in the form of an e-book (link https://rb.nic.in/rbebook.htm).

In his brief remarks during the launch event of the website, the Secretary to the President stated that Rashtrapati Bhavan has implemented numerous initiatives over the past year, focusing on the welfare of citizens. These initiatives include opening Rashtrapati Niwas, Mashobra, and Rashtrapati Nilayam to the public throughout the year, extending the duration of Amrit Udyan’s accessibility, and increasing the number of visitor slots. The President’s Estate organized a Chintan Shivir to encourage innovative thinking and enhance the overall work and living environment. The Secretary expressed gratitude to the President for her guidance and patronage in these endeavors.
