The Indian Institute of Management Lucknow (IIM Lucknow) has announced the appointment of Prof. MP Gupta as its new Director, effective April 23, 2025. He succeeds Prof. Archana Shukla, who served as the institute’s Director and is credited with steering IIM Lucknow through a period of academic and institutional growth.
A distinguished academician and administrator, Prof. Gupta brings with him more than three decades of experience from premier institutions such as IIT Delhi and IIT Roorkee. He is widely recognized for his work in e-governance, public policy, and digital transformation in governance. His leadership is expected to bring a renewed focus on academic excellence, global partnerships, and innovation-driven initiatives with a strong emphasis on societal impact.
In a statement released by the institute, IIM Lucknow expressed its deep appreciation for Prof. Shukla’s “inspiring leadership and steadfast commitment” during her tenure. Under her guidance, the institute saw several academic advancements, infrastructural developments, and expanded global visibility.
