The Punjab government has announced a significant reshuffle affecting 10 Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officers, including the transfer of 6 Deputy Commissioners across key administrative positions in the state.
Notable changes include the appointment of Surabhi Malik, a 2012 batch IAS officer and former DC Ludhiana, as the Chief Executive of Punjab Energy Development Agency. Showkat Ahmad Parray, a 2013 batch IAS officer, takes over as the new Deputy Commissioner of Patiala, succeeding Ms. Sakshi Sawhney, who assumes the role of DC Ludhiana.
H S Sudan, also a 2013 batch IAS officer, has been appointed as the new DC Muktsar, succeeding Ruhee Dugg. Jaspreet Singh, a 2014 batch IAS officer, assumes the role of DC Bathinda after serving as Director of Social Justice, Empowerment, and Minorities, with additional responsibilities as CEO of Punjab Bureau of Investment Promotion.
Aditya Uppal, a 2011 batch IAS officer, assumes the position of DC Pathankot, while Amarpreet Kaur Sandhu, from the 2016 batch, takes charge as the Chief Administrator of Jalandhar Development Authority. Amit Kumar Panchal, a 2016 batch IAS officer, is appointed as DC Kapurthala, and Gautam Jain, from the 2017 batch, takes up the crucial position of Commissioner of Municipal Corporation, Jalandhar.
Harpreet Singh, a 2019 batch IAS officer, has been designated as the Commissioner of Municipal Corporation, Amritsar, according to the latest government order.
