RailTel and NBCC Forge Strategic Alliance to Develop Data Centre Projects in India and Abroad

RailTel Corporation of India Ltd. has signed a MoU with NBCC (India) Ltd. for strategic collaboration in the development and execution of Data Centre projects across India and international markets.

The partnership brings together the technical expertise of RailTel and the project management prowess of NBCC to deliver end-to-end data centre solutions. Under the agreement, RailTel will be responsible for the planning, designing, supply, installation, testing, commissioning, and operations & maintenance of IT-related infrastructure. This includes computing hardware, security and network systems, and disaster recovery mechanisms.

NBCC, a leading public sector enterprise in construction and project management, will provide comprehensive services for the civil and passive infrastructure of the data centres. Their role will encompass contract management, construction supervision, cost control, quality assurance, and project handover activities.

Beyond domestic projects, the MoU also opens avenues for joint development of IT and IT-enabled service (ITES) infrastructure in global markets, including Vietnam, Mauritius, the UAE, and various African countries. Each project undertaken will be formalized through a separate agreement and executed with mutual consent, allowing for the inclusion of third-party partners when needed.

This strategic framework aims to harness the combined strengths of RailTel and NBCC to address the growing demand for secure, scalable, and efficient data infrastructure, both in India and abroad.
